Who We Are

The events offered by Oregon-Idaho Camp & Retreat Ministries are led by energetic volunteers from the

Episcopal Diocese of Oregon and the Oregon-Idaho United Methodist Church who

believe camping offers vital experiences in the faith journey of people of all ages,

create intentional learning communities in great outdoor settings

train for their role in guiding others.

Why Are Camps Effective?

Camp gets us back to nature.  Unplugged from the computer, the video games and texts, you have fun in the natural environment, delighting in creativity and simple pleasures.

Camp provides a safe community.  You experience acceptance and love.  You intentionally build together a community. 

Camp celebrates diversity.  No matter what your color, gender or socioeconomic circumstances, you are beautiful inside and out.

Camp teaches us how to cope with life’s obstacles, become leaders, think outside of the box and succeed at being ourselves.  Research by the American Camp Association (ACA) showed that 92% of campers felt better about themselves after the camp experience.

Camp is a living laboratory of Christian community.  Experiences of Christian living are very powerful, complementing the spiritual practices of home and church.
