Here's what it's all about:

You know your family's financial situation better than we do. As you consider your family's financial situation, please also consider the true cost of camp. On each camp's description page you will find two different camp prices. You get to choose the one that best fits your family's ability to pay.

1. Subsidized rate: The lowest price is a subsidized rate; donors to the Joy Fund allow Camp & Retreat Ministry to offer this rate. This covers only the basics: food costs, kitchen and maintenance staff, program supplies, and training, food and lodging for the volunteer leaders. (Subsidized rate is not available within 2 weeks of the start of any event.)

2. The true cost of camp: This is closest to the true overall cost of an individual's participation at camp. This includes the costs of the subsidized rate plus things like insurance, utilities, replacement of equipment, and facility upgrades.

Please carefully consider the amount that your family can afford. If the lowest price seems comfortable to you, choose it. If you think you can help with some of the bigger expenses of the camps, please choose the higher price. And remember, our practice is that no one is turned away for a lack of funds.

If paying for camp is a significant challenge for your family, please contact the pastor of your local United Methodist or Episcopal Church or the Camping Office.
