Sawtooth Backpacking Adventure Camp is a fun and accepting place for venturesome Junior and Senior High campers to grow, mature, and create friendships.  Come make new friends at camp and EXPERIENCE A BACKPACKING ADVENTURE in the southern end of the Sawtooth Mountains!

We’ll spend the first days in camp preparing to head off into the mountains for 4 days and 3 nights.  We will cover about 15 miles up and over a high mountain pass, to several beautiful mountain lakes and then along the headwaters of the Boise River.  The last night will be back at Sawtooth Camp.

No previous backpacking or camping experience is required.  Whether you are a first time or experienced Sawtooth camper, there are always new things to do, places to explore, friends to meet, and God’s love to celebrate.  Our goals for the week will be to have fun, to explore some beautiful country, to learn, to make new friends and to do all of this in a setting that brings us closer to God by spending time immersed in the natural world.  You can look forward to adventures like sleeping under the stars, dipping our toes in ice-cold mountain lakes, fire safety, back-country navigation, leave-no-trace ethics, wilderness first aid, team building on the challenge course, on-site activities at camp, and more.

Sawtooth Backpacking Adventure Camp is rooted in Christian community and outdoor adventures.  Throughout the week scriptures will guide us in exploring the natural world and growing closer to God, our Creator.

Note:  Campers registering for this event should be physically and mentally prepared for hiking and adventure activities.  The trip will be a bit strenuous as we will be hiking with packs through some steep, rugged country.  Even if you have not done anything like this before, you will be surprised at what you can do!  Backpack Adventure campers are encouraged to bring their own backpack and hiking gear, though some equipment is available at camp.  Please contact the director if you do not have backpacking equipment and need to reserve some.  (Contact information below.)
